With Hit Man, which is based on a true story, Glen Powell proves he's most definitely ready for leading man status. Hit Man follows the exploits of college professor Gary Johnson, whose soft-spoken persona is in direct contradiction with who he is after hours. When he's not teaching, Gary works for the New Orleans Police Department as a fake hitman, which is a pretty juicy premise.
Along with playing the film's lead character, Powell also co-wrote the flick with acclaimed director Richard Linklater, showing he has many hidden talents.

Netflix romantic comedy Set It Up brought Glen Powell to the general public's attention in a big way. The film focuses on Harper (Zoey Deutch) and Charlie (Powell) who work as assistants for some seriously fussy bosses. Powell stars alongside Zoey Deutch, Tyler Hoechlin, and Wyatt Russel (Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's son) in the celebrated ensemble.

While making significant contributions to the organization, the three women face prejudice, sexism, and racism in a heavily segregated industry. Glen Powell stars as astronaut John Glenn in the film, which was both a commercial and critical success.

Devotion is a war drama based on the non-fiction book of the same name by Adam Makos. Set during the Korean War, the film tells the story of Jesse L. Brown, the very first Black aviator to serve in the United States Navy, and explores the working relationship he had with fighter pilot Tom Hudner (played by Glen Powell). Although the film wasn't a box office success, Powell was instrumental in getting the film made and served as a producer on the project.
